How Does it Work?

The Brazilian buttock lift procedure works by harvesting excess fat from areas such as your abdomen, waist, hips or back (as examples) through standard liposuction techniques. The fat cells are cleaned and processed and then redistributed to your buttocks through injections. What is the Recovery Process?

Following your surgery, Dr. Wirth will provide you with specific postoperative care instructions. The recovery period after a Brazilian buttock lift is typically around three weeks. During the first 12-24 hours of recovery, you may need assistance from a friend or family member. Dr. Wirth may also ask that you wear a special garment for up to two weeks to reduce swelling. Furthermore, Dr. Wirth institutes a very strict “no sitting” protocol in order to protect the Brazilian buttock lift results.

Swelling may be present for up to six weeks, but most patients are able to return to work within two weeks of surgery. You should be able to resume all normal activities including exercise within a month. The results of a Brazilian buttock lift are long-lasting and do not typically require touch-ups or an additional round of injections to achieve ideal results.
