Our Newport Beach breast lift surgery provides a more youthful-looking breast profile. This is accomplished by raising the breasts and removing any excess or sagging skin and tightening the surrounding tissue.
The procedure will not significantly alter the size or volume of your breasts, so if you want to change both the size and the profile of your breasts, talk to Dr. Garrett A. Wirth about breast augmentation or a breast reduction.
Candidates for Breast Lift Surgery
Any healthy woman seeking to raise a saggy or loose breast profile and achieve tighter, more youthful- looking breasts makes a strong candidate for this surgery. The key is to become as informed as possible regarding the realistic expectations of this surgery. If these expectations meet your personal health and body image goals, then this procedure may be a great option.
It is especially helpful in counteracting the loose and sagging skin that often accompanies:
- Dramatic weight fluctuations
As with any surgical procedure performed here in Orange County, you will work closely with Dr. Wirth and his team before undergoing the operation. They can help determine how beneficial a breast lift surgery will be for you, given your body and personal goals.
How it Works
As your surgery begins, you will receive anesthesia to reduce intraoperative pain and discomfort. Dr. Wirth will then make a series of incisions. Usually, these incisions follow one of three patterns: around the areola, around the areola (periareolar) and vertically down to the breast crease (“lollipop”), or around the areola, vertically down to the breast crease, and then horizontally along the breast crease (“anchor”).
After making the necessary incisions, Dr. Wirth will lift and reshape underlying breast tissue, and reposition the nipple and areola to a more youthful-looking height and position. If needed, he will also reduce the size of your areolas and remove any excess skin surrounding the breast. Finally, all incisions will be sutured.
What Happens After Surgery?
Immediately following surgery, your incisions will be dressed and bandaged. You may also be given compression garments or a support bra to help decrease swelling and to support your breasts. Until all swelling and soreness subsides, be careful that your incisions do not experience any significant stress, motion, or abrasion. As always, be sure to follow any postoperative instructions Dr. Wirth or his staff may give you.
The aesthetic results of your breast lift will be apparent immediately following surgery. In time, any residual swelling will decrease and the appearance of incision lines will become less noticeable.
